Saddam Had WMD

Now that the proof is conclusive that “Saddam Had WMD,” Democrats are donning hair shirts for their years of anti-American hysteria and are fully embracing our war effort. Right? Right?? Wait a minute, you haven’t read about the proof in The NY Times, The LA Times, The Washington Post or heard about it on CBS News. What’s going on here?

Well I just found out myself thanks to friend Bill Weldon who sent me this link to an article in Investors Business Daily (IBD):

http://www.investors.com/editorial/IBDArticles.asp?artsec=20&artnum=1&issue=20060224

“Inconveniently for critics of the war” reports IBD, “Saddam made tapes in his version of the Oval Office. These tapes landed in the hands of American intelligence and were recently aired publicly. The first 12 hours of the tapes — there are hundreds more waiting to be translated — are damning, to say the least. They show conclusively that Bush didn't lie when he cited Saddam's WMD plans as one of the big reasons for taking the dictator out.”

Here are a few more excerpts. Check out the full article, and see if you can find any follow-up articles in the main stream media.

On the tapes, Saddam talks openly of his programs involving biological, chemical and, even, nuclear weapons. Indeed, as late as 2000, Saddam can be heard talking with Iraqi scientists about his ongoing plans to build a nuclear device. At one point, he discusses Iraq's plasma uranium program — something that was missed entirely by U.N. weapons inspectors combing Iraq for WMD. Amazing!! Perhaps most chillingly, the tapes record Iraq Foreign Minister Tariq Aziz talking about how easy it would be to set off a WMD in Washington. The comments come shortly after Saddam muses about using "proxies" in a terror attack. Read "proxies" = terrorists!!!

And "Where are those WMD", you ask?

Georges Sada, the former No. 2 in Iraq's air force has written a book, "Saddam's Secrets," that details how the Iraqi dictator used trucks, commercial jets and ships to remove his WMD to Syria. Ali Ibrahim, another of Saddam's former commanders, has largely corroborated Sada's story.

But where did the WMD come from in the first place? Wasn’t the UN watching Iraq like a hawk while administering the “Oil-for Food” program?

"The short answer to the question of where the WMD Saddam bought from the Russians went was that they went to Syria and Lebanon," said John Shaw, former deputy undersecretary of defense, in comments made at an intelligence summit Feb. 17-20 in Arlington, Va.

"They were moved by Russian Spetsnaz (special ops) units out of uniform that were specifically sent to Iraq to move the weaponry and eradicate any evidence of its existence," he said.

And there is more evidence, much more, in the 35,000 boxes of documents that Rep. Peter Hoekstra, R-Mich., chairman of the House Committee on Intelligence, is trying to get translated and released into the public domain.

One thing we know for sure. Not a bit of it will be leaked on the front pages of The New York Times or The Washington Post.

These WMDs must have been very small miniatures that somebody could smuggle into Syria by hiding them in their pockets or may have been moved underground via a tunnel extending from Baghdad to a location in Syria. I mean how else could Saddam move them to Syria right under the noses of the US who was watching their every move under a microscope.

We should be able to locate that tunnel any day now. Any day now.

Everyone knew that Saddam had WMD's during the Clinton administration but even then, it wasn't important enough to do anything about. It won't matter today to those who refuse to see a threat to our country and way of life.
BTW RC is pretty awesome, but not just for backing up Bill. He is pretty transparent about what makes him tick at his blog.
What's your story anon?

Hey Ralph, if it's so important to fight, why don't you simply enlist? How did Saddam's non-existent WMD endanger your way of life? How about Iran's REAL nuclear weapons program? We attacked the wrong country, and now the countries who actually do have WMD (Iraq and North Korea) are laughing at us while we are bogged down in the morass that is Iraq. Silly man.
