One Nation Under God

Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask Your forgiveness and to seek Your direction and guidance.

We know Your Word says, "Woe on those who call evil good," but that's exactly what we have done. We have lost our spiritual Equilibrium and reversed our values.

We confess that:

We have ridiculed the absolute truth of Your Word and called it pluralism.

We have worshipped other gods and called it multiculturalism.

We have endorsed perversion and called it an alternative lifestyle.

We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery.

We have neglected the needy and called it self-preservation.

We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare.

We have killed our unborn children and called it a choice.

We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable.

We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self-esteem.

We have abused power and called it political savvy.

We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition.

We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression.

We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment.

Search us, O God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and set us free.

Guide and bless these men and women who have been sent to direct us to the center of Your will. I ask it in the name of Your Son, the living Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.

When Minister Joe Wright was asked to open the new session of the Kansas Senate, everyone was expecting the usual generalities, but Joe had a different idea.

The response was immediate. A number of legislators walked out during the prayer in protest. In 6 weeks, Central Christian Church, where Rev.Wright is pastor, logged more than 5,000 phone calls with only 47 of those calls responding negatively. The church is now receiving international requests for copies of this prayer from India, Africa and Korea.

Commentator Paul Harvey aired this prayer on his radio program, "The Rest of the Story," and received a larger response to this program than any other he has ever aired. With the Lord's help, may this prayer sweep over our nation and wholeheartedly become our desire so that we again can be called "one nation under God."

If possible, please pass this prayer on to your friends. "If you don't stand for something, you will fall for everything."

Thanks to good friend Gene Roeder for passing it on to me.

May I offer your readers the Prayer of St. Francis as an antidote to the prayer of judgement and intolerance offered above:

Lord, make us instruments
of your peace.
Where there is hatred
let us sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is discord, union;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
Where there is sadness, joy.

Grant that we may not
so much seek
To be consoled as to console;
To be understood
as to understand;
To be loved as to love.

For it is in giving
that we receive;
It is in pardoning
that we are pardoned;
And it is in dying that we are
born to eternal life.

Bill,
I linked to your post and learned from comments that it is from 1996. Amazing that this is the first I have heard about it.

This is really good. I read this prayer aloud to myself and was inspired by it. I think you’re absolutely right that multi-culturalism and pluralism are not what this great country of ours is all about. The white Christian people of America need to recognize this and drive the message home. Of course the organization which has been at the forefront of this movement has been the Ku Klux Klan. As a long-standing member, I feel I’m doing my part to further the cause. There are openings at every level in the Klan and we’re keen to recruit people with your strength and character. We will contact you off-line.

God bless you

God Bless you too Tex! Finally someone has acknowledged the fact that thanks to Bill and his blog we might at last get a must needed chapter of the Klan on the Palos Verdes Peninsula. I have lurked on this website for many months and have always interrupted Bill's writings as inspirational, intelligent and without a doubt he is one of the only true spokesman for the white Christian brotherhood in this area.

Please feel free to contact me off line as well.
